Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen

Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen

Product Description

Chubby’s is simply our take on traditional Caribbean cuisine balanced with healthy, culinary twists. Inspired by home-style cooking infused with the warmth and vibrancy of Jamaica’s culture and people, Chubby’s is a celebration of our love and respect for the island’s food and all the amazing Jamaican cooks we know. We even chose a Jamaican nickname for the restaurant, one that represents that good tummy feeling you get after having a delicious home-cooked meal.

Envisioned and thoughtfully curated by restaurateur Janet Zuccarini and a tightly-knit team of creators and collaborators, Chubby’s is an expression of our love and respect for the richness of Jamaican culture. Located in a restored circa-1890 row house, Chubby’s melds old and new, inside and out to create a transporting dining experience complete with delicious Caribbean cooking, eclectic design and soulful hospitality.

Angela Lawrence took on the responsibility of translating a shared vision into reality. In addition to being Chubby’s Development Lead, she has a popular cooking blog with her mother called Cook Like A Jamaican. Angela leaned on her Jamaican heritage and passion for its cuisine to ensure that every aspect of Chubby’s building design and customer experience is made of memorable moments. Leading the Chubby’s opening culinary team is Jamaican-born Chef de Cuisine, Donavon Campbell, whose passion for the comforting cuisine of his roots can be experienced in his carefully crafted menu. Continuing Chef Donavon’s vision are sous chefs Dadrian Coke, formerly of Sandals Resort in Negril and a proud native of Westmoreland, Jamaica, and Andrea Di Mauro, whose newfound appreciation of Jamaican cuisine was deepened while studying in Montego Bay under celebrated Jamaican chefs Steve Sowa of the Hilton Rose Hall Resort, and Christopher Golding of Sugar Mill restaurant.
