Dr. Young became a Naturopathic Doctor because she believes in gentle treatment, which is tailored to your lifestyle and goals. She partners with you and collaborates with other health practitioners to ensure you receive well-rounded care.
After completing her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto, she completed her Doctor of Naturopathy Degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Young is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
Dr. Young’s additional training includes the following:
10+ year background in fitness instruction, personal training, and nutritional coaching with the continual goal of encouraging others to transition into & build upon as a core component of a healthy lifestyle
FirstLine Therapy – a practical system to deliver lifestyle medicine, especially to individuals who have concerns about diabetes, blood sugar dysregulation, cardiovascular disease, and/or weight management difficulties.
Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences & Diploma of Clinical Homeopathy – non-invasive, safe, and gentle approaches to treating acute (eg. colds) and chronic, long-standing health concerns.
In addition to supporting general wellness and seasonal care (eg. cold & flu, allergies, seasonal affective disorder), Dr. Young’s areas of focus include guiding patients to achieve healthy weight (fat) loss, and mood regulation. Conditions she focuses on treating include diabetes (and conditions involving blood sugar dysregulation) and cardiovascular conditions. Dr. Young sees patients in the Durham Region – both at her private practice in Pickering Village (Ajax), and at the pt Health Oshawa Physio and Rehab clinic in Oshawa.
